Conscious Tourism’s Dimension in the Historical Villages of Portugal

Recent growth in the tourism sector has promoted emergence of alternative types tourism, such as rural tourism. Located low-density territories, Historical Villages Portugal are one best examples regarding regional development from perspective sustainability. Although it is an important topic today and gives longevity to destinations, its approach conscious still little valued. This article discusses tourists’ characteristics seeking Villages, their behaviour, well awareness perception possible impacts they may cause. Intends understand tourist experience region, ascertain existence behaviours destinations. Surveys were applied 453 tourists Villages. The main results obtained show that sociodemographic profile influences application practices, tourist’s attitude will contribute overall satisfaction concerning destination.
